Tucsonans are justifiably proud of our unique Arizona Historic District. The "Moon", as we affectionately call it, has been delighting children for three generations. But in spite of its historical importance the Moon has never received any support from government or foundations. As a strictly volunteer non-profit it's an understatement to say that our resources have been "miniscule". In addition to saving the place from crumbling to dust, given that it's made of chicken wire, scrap metal, rocks and concrete, we also want to restore it to it's former glory as a tourist destination. We're very hopeful that we might get enough support to accomplish these goals.
If you'd like to be a part of enabling Tucson's 84-year-old "Phoenix" to rise again from the accumulating dust won't you show your pride in our unique Tucson landmark by giving as generously as you can to support the cause? All donations are tax-deductible. PayPal makes it painless to contribute if you have a credit card. If not, we hope "the check is in the mail"!
Recently, Valley of the Moon received a very generous In-kind donation from Darling Environmental &
Surveying of a detailed three dimensional mapping of the entire park, including the underground caves.
Very soon, the map will be finished and posted on the web so everyone in the world will be able to
take a virtual tour of Valley of the Moon.
This map will help us with all of our upcoming plans
to restore and improve the park, allowing us to measure and assess future work from the computer desktop.
THANKS DARLING, LTD.!!
