2023 Hallmarks
- Intro: General information and a walking tour to identify the features that can be "adopted".
- Select your structure. Deeper dive into the history and significance of the features listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Introduction to the Condition Report and Preservation Plan with a walking tour
- Historic building monitoring 101 in the adobe house, then test your power of observation on site with Preservation Bingo! Receive your official clipboard and instructions
- FIrst quarter documentation is shared and compared with Preservation Plan.
- Optional Lecture and Field trip. The Becoming a History Detective lecture trains the curious in how to do their own research. On a separate date we travel to the Arizona Historical Museum's Library and Archives to examine the Valley of the Moon collection for information about your structure.
- Learn about the Secretary of the Interior's Standards and how they guide repairs on our chosen structures.
- Mini Conference: History Guardians will present their findings to the group. Tips on how to interpret historic features given.
- History Guardians go public. History guardians stand by their structure to share their knowledge and entertain questions as the public wanders through Valley of the Moon on a History Walkabout
- Year end conference with certificates and celebration
