The George Phar Legler Society, DBA. Valley of the Moon, is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and your donations are entirely tax deductible. Your donations go to fund historic preservation, programming, ongoing operations, and special projects. Your gifts will be used responsibly and productively to continue spreading the magic at this truly unique place.

Grant Funding
Over the past seven years grant funding has made a real difference at Valley of the Moon. Grants have been awarded from the following generous organizations:
- Arizona Commission on the Arts- The Arizona Commission on the Arts has provided significant support. In Fiscal Year 2023 we were awarded $13,000 in creative the Creative Capacity Grant (CCG) and a One-time Capacity and Planning Allocation.
- Small Business Administration- Federal funding has been awarded through the Paycheck Protection Program,Targeted EIDL Advance and Supplemental Targeted Advance
- Arts Foundation for Tucson and Southern Arizona- CARES Grant 2021, General Operating Grant 2019-2020, stArt Grant 2016-2017 to evaluate theatrical processes. Valley of the Moon has received an Tucson CARES for the Arts and Culture Grant funded by the City of Tucson We Are One/Somos Uno Resiliency Fund administered by the Arts Foundation for Tucson and Southern Arizona.
- Union Pacific Foundation has awarded Valley of the Moon a grant to support SAFE PLACE, where COVID-vulnerable folk can reunite with their families under less risky conditions when the time is right. It also funds volunteer training, hiring youth project assistants and facility improvements to reduce risk of spreading the virus that causes COVID19
- Community Foundation for Southern Arizona has provided a Catchafire subscription which matches nonprofits with qualified volunteers to provide remote assistance. 2021, 2022 and 2023
- Larry H. Miller Charities has funded the Easy to be Me Program providing a sensory friendly introduction to Valley of the Moon, staff training and more. 2019
- Tucson Federal Credit Union funded See It, Say It, Play it in Cherokee to provide free admission for tribal members.
- Southwestern Foundation for Education and Historical Preservation- funded 2017 organizational assessment and capacity building study
- Selika Family Services-assisted with restoration of Frank and Rose's Adobe House 2015-2017; funded child safety program 2014, funded repair of George's Troglodyte Cavern 2013
- Associated Foundations, Inc.- provided funding to allow use of the historic Frank and Rose's Adobe House as a year-round multi-purpose educational building 2016-2017

A bench was created by Santa Teresa Tileworks to remember Charlie Spillar. It has been placed in the Butterfly Garden. Lauren Ard was the major donor; Dr. Ron Sparks and Sa'ad Allawi contributed; Bo Popovich and Jenni Sunshine designed the layout.
In memory of Destiny Emerys (Passmore) a generous donation was made by an anonymous donor.
